The Scunthorpe and Grimsby Advanced Motorists was formed in June 2018 through the merger of the Scunthorpe Group and the Grimsby and Louth Group. This strategic unification strengthened our ability to serve motorists across North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire by providing advanced driver training through the IAM RoadSmart program.

Our origins date back to 1967, when the Grimsby and Louth Group was established, covering the Scunthorpe area. As interest in advanced driving grew, the Scunthorpe Advanced Motorists Group was formed in 1977. With decades of collective expertise, our combined group is now an even stronger force for promoting safer driving practices.

We are proud to offer expert guidance from our National Observers, helping drivers refine their skills, complete the advanced driver course, undergo a check test and pass the IAM RoadSmart test. Our mission is simple: to make the roads safer for all through enhanced driving techniques and education.
